An Identity Shaped by Struggle and Mekete is our Bulwark
The Young People’s Front for Democracy & Justice (YPFDJ) - an Eritrean youth organisation in the diaspora - will be holding its annual conference between 17th - 21st of April 2014 in Geneva, Switzerland. This conference which is going to be the 10th consecutive Annual Conference will be attended by 650 participants from YPFDJ chapters around the world.
The conference aims to involve Eritrean youth activists who are serving their communities and nation in different capacities. Also, several community leaders and organisation representatives will be participating in the conference which will be addressing pertinent topics that affects the Eritrean youth inside and outside the country.
The youth conference which is unique of its kind and nature has attracted thousands of active youth members over the years and created a vibrant youth forum which critically analyse the myriad issues facing in the daily lives of Eritrean youth in the diaspora and the homeland; and organise themselves to change their environment for a better future.
The main highlights of the 10th YPFDJ conference this year are:
● Lectures, Discussions, Workshops, Forums on Eritrea’s Identity and Culture
● YPFDJ Organisational issues and consolidation
● Elections of the European wide representatives
● Current Political Affairs
● Evaluation of Activities and future plans
All preparations have now been finalised to start the three day intensive discussions, lectures, engagements with Eritrean leaders and papers from participants. Proceedings of the YPFDJ conference will be communicated by the organising committee in due course through various social-media and other media outlets.
